Camp Meeting Association - Board of Trustees

The Camp Meeting Association of Mount Tabor (CMA) is a 501(c)4 non-profit community association governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of twelve volunteer resident Leaseholders of Mount Tabor, who are elected by the Leaseholders at an Annual Meeting. The objective of the CMA is to provide a quiet and healthy environment for the people living in Mount Tabor and to provide for the safety and well-being of the community.

The monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month in the Bethel at 7:00pm.

Introducing the CMA Trustees

 
 

Larry Go

Larry Go was introduced to Mt. Tabor by a work colleague who lived in town, and in 2005 he and his wife purchased a home on Butler Pass. Larry has been working in the garden industry for 30 years and has owned his own business since 2011. Larry joined the CMA Board in 2021.

 

Meg Lane

Meghan Lane found Mt. Tabor as she and her husband searched for houses along the train line to Manhattan. They have two young children (4 and 9). Meg works as a consultant on digital projects across several organizations. She joined the CMA Board in 2022.

 

Jim Lau

Jim Lau moved to Mt. Tabor with his wife, Dawn and his two daughters, Rhaya and Maya in 2015. His older daughters, Alyssa and Theresa live in Boston and Arizona, respectively. Jim and his wife run the Mt. Tabor Arts Collaborative, a non-profit organization that supports Arts education in Morris County. Jim joined the CMA Board in 2018

 

MEGHAN MARTINEZ

Meghan Martinez moved to Mount Tabor with her husband, Alex, in 2013 knowing it would be the perfect place to raise her family of 2 sons, Matt and Dan, and her 2 dogs, Rosie and Daisy. She has worked as a first grade teacher through Midland Park Board of Education for the last 15 years and was an educator in New York City and Newton, NJ previously. Meghan is also an active member of Mount Tabor’s Children’s Day Committee where she has organized the Midway for the last 8 years. Meghan joined the board in 2023.

Richard Morgan

Richard Morgan grew up in Mt. Tabor and eventually bought his first Tabor house in 1982. He worked as a professional video editor and producer for a variety of broadcast and P.R. firms for over 40 years. Now semi-retired, Rich is an associate for Lowes Home Center in Hanover, NJ. Rich has served on the CMA Board since 1988. He has been President, Vice President, Secretary and now Treasurer, while also participating in the work of a wide variety of committees

 

Kevin Northover

Kevin Northover moved to the USA and Mount Tabor with his family in 1984 and joined the CMA Board in 2017. He has worked in a variety of technology and consulting positions in financial services and other industries and currently is a data scientist for a local health insurance company. He serves as President of the Board.

Mary Ann O’Brien

Mary Ann O’Brien found out about Mt. Tabor from an advertisement in the NY Times and moved here in 1989. She has worked for an insurance carrier for over 35 years. Mary Ann joined the CMA Board in 2009, is currently the Vice President of the CMA and has also served as the Treasurer.

George Philhower

A third generation Taborite, George Philhower has seen both major change and comforting stability in his 7 decades living in, and around Mount Tabor. “I can remember when the Tabor roads were dirt, (then cinder), before being paved.” George worked in print production as a manager in advertising, in NYC, working for Calvin Klein; Showtime Networks and VH1. George joined the CMA Board in 2008.

Fran schmelzer

Fran Schmelzer moved to Mt. Tabor when she married her husband and has now been a resident for over 25 years.  Fran has a background in accounting and worked for a homeless shelter in Morristown for over 20 years.  She joined the CMA Board in 2006.

David Sears

David and his wife Mary moved to Mt. Tabor from Morris Plains in 2014. After a career as a Human Resources Executive for The New York Times Company and Dow Jones & Company, David became a military history author. His 5th book, Duel in the Deep, was published in September 2023. David joined the CMA Board in 2023.

Beth Shaw

Beth Shaw moved to Mount. Tabor in 1992 as a proud first time home owner and leaseholder. She is retired and enjoys doing craft work and helping out her friends and neighbors. She has been active in many community groups, having served as president of both the Historical Society and the Garden Club and as a member of the Friends of Mount Tabor. Beth has been on the CMA Board since 2006

melissa wood

Melissa Wood, originally from Louisville, Ky, became a New Jersey resident in 1987 and moved to Mount Tabor in 1999. She has worked as an elementary art teacher for almost 40 years, 35 of them at Kent Place School in Summit, NJ. Melissa joined the CMA Board in 2019 and currently serves as Secretary.

Recording secretary - Dodi skovronek

Dodi Skovronek was born in Mt Tabor in 1963 and has lived here ever since.  She and her husband, Eric have two grown children.  Dodi works at the Denville Community Church as the Office Administrator.  She attends every monthly meeting as our recording secretary.
