INTRODUCTING THE CANDIDATES

FRAN MCNEIL

My name is Francis McNeill, I've lived in Mount Tabor for 33 years, most people in town know me as Fran.

I spent the last 40 years in heavy construction working both in the field and in management before retiring in 2022. I believe I bring a unique perspective and ability to represent our community and to bring an experienced voice to the table when dealing with Parsippany and contractors working for the town in Mount Tabor.

My wife & I have raised our four children in Mount Tabor, I love our tight knit community and want to ensure it continues to offer the same opportunities provided to my family for generations to come

Mary Ann O’Brien

I have only lived in Mount Tabor for 36 years and I have served on the Board for 16 of those years.

While on the CMA Board I have served as Chair of the Policy & the Lots and Boundaries Committees. I have also been a member of several other committees and served as Treasurer and in 2024 I was elected Vice President of the CMA Board.

What I am most proud of overall is the successful submission of the Morris County Small Business Association Covid Grant which covered $15,000.00 of the CMA expenses related to improving the airflow in our buildings which included the addition of air conditioning to the Bethel.

melissa wood

My name is Melissa Wood, and I am running for re-election to the CMA, where I have served as Secretary, member of the Executive committee, and Chair of both the Policy and Trusteeship committees.

I moved to Mt Tabor in 1999, joined the CMA in 2019 and have since focused on refining the effectiveness, communication, and professionalism of the Board. I have worked with my committees to educate all trustees through the creation of a Trustee Handbook and introduced new procedures to improve documentation and accountability.

As an art teacher for over 40 years, I enjoy using my creative energy to solve problems and look at issues from many perspectives. If re-elected I would like to continue my efforts to build trustee knowledge and foster positive and active community relations.

Dorian Yurchuk

Our family has been in Mount Tabor for about 25 Children’s Days. We remember skiing and sledding on the golf course and walking to get groceries. We went on countless hikes to the Rock House during Covid and survived the fall and rise of the Tabor Library. So the answer is: a lifetime.

I would like to be involved in the continued care of the architectural heritage of this neighborhood, and also look for new ways to keep Tabor special.

By day I work on restoring pre-war buildings in NYC, before returning to the historic surroundings of Mount Tabor. I have been involved with building restoration for over thirty years and in my spare time I am an amateur architectural historian.
